Our client purchased not one, but two apartments side by side within a Darling Point apartment block. We gutted the entire two units in order to refit as a single 4-bedroom apartment with a bathroom and ensuite.
The renovation was a complete interior fit-out, including; soundproofing, heated flooring throughout, marble tile floors to main areas and, all new electrical, bathrooms and joinery. Abseilers were also used to install new full-height glass windows to the unique curved facade of the unit.
The construction certainly had its challenges. Not only was it difficult to access being on the 6th floor, but there was also no location to store materials or rubbish removal at the end of each day. As a temporary measure, we installed a material hoist to the side of the apartment building in order to bring building materials up to the apartment floor and rubbish down. At the end of each day or delivery, all materials and products had to be carted up to the unit and the car park cleaned.
The end result, a stunning harbourside apartment in a contemporary modern design with panoramic views of the harbour and cityscape.
